"I ran into an issue while trying..."
I ran into an issue while trying to fix a few details on my resume, and I remember feeling stressed because I just wanted to get it finished and downloaded. I reached out to LiveCareer support, and the person who helped me was genuinely kind and patient. They walked me through everything step by step and never made me feel silly for asking basic questions. That part really stuck with me because resume stuff can already feel nerve-wracking. The problem was sorted out quickly, and I was able to download my resume afterward. Overall, it was a really good experience and I’m grateful for the help.

"Okay builder, but the billing was frustrating"
The resume builder itself was fine, and the templates were decent. But it’s not even about that, the pricing is what really bothered me. It looked like it was going to be cheap at first, then I ended up getting charged more than I expected. Canceling wasn’t very straightforward either and took longer than it should have. Just be careful before entering your card.

"I was a little nervous about canceling..."
I was a little nervous about canceling my LiveCareer plan because I expected it to be a hassle, but it was actually easier than I thought. It took me a few minutes to find the cancel option, which was a bit annoying, but once I found it, everything went through without any drama. I got the confirmation email quickly too, which made me feel a lot better...

"Templates feel outdated"
I was hoping for more modern-looking templates, but most of them felt a bit old-fashioned. If they don’t add some fresher designs soon, I’ll probably start looking for another option

"Made writing my cover letter so much easier"
This really helped me put my cover letter together without overthinking every sentence. It made the process feel a lot less stressful, and I’m happy with how it turned out

"Live chat was kind of confusing"
I used the live chat because I had a question about my bill, but I’m not sure it really helped much. The replies felt a bit like copy-and-paste responses, and it took longer than I expected to hear back. The person was polite, so that was fine, but I still didn’t feel like I got a clear answer. I ended up figuring most of it out on my own, which was frustrating. It wasn’t terrible support, just not as helpful as I was hoping

"Refund took a bit, but it worked out"
I used the resume builder and then, just forgot to cancel, so I ended up getting charged. I reached out to support and they were helpful, like it wasn’t a big back-and-forth or anything. They approved the refund, but it did take a couple days to actually show up. So, not totally seamless, but... yeah, fair enough in the end.

"I’ll be honest, I was worried this..."
I’ll be honest, I was worried this might be one of those things that sounds helpful but doesn’t really do anything. I didn’t want to get fooled. But after using it to fix up my resume for ATS, I started getting more callbacks than before. Happy with the results.

"Helpful support, just not super quick"
I ran into a problem with my LiveCareer account and ended up emailing support because I couldn’t figure it out on my own. I poked around the site for a bit first, probably longer than I needed to, but you know how it goes when you think the answer is hiding somewhere obvious.
They got back to me the next day, and the person who replied was actually really helpful. They explained what was happening in a simple way and fixed the issue without turning it into some long back-and-forth, which I appreciated.
I’m giving 4 stars mostly because I was hoping to hear back a little sooner, especially since account stuff can feel kind of annoying when you’re waiting. But in the end it was handled well, and once it was fixed, I kind of forgot I’d been stressed about it.

"Works fine, but the price feels steep"
It works okay overall, no major complaints there. But for what you get, the monthly cost feels a bit too high. I kept thinking maybe I was missing some extra value, but... not really. It’s fine, just not worth the price for me.

"Using the account settings was okay, but it..."
Using the account settings was okay, but it felt more confusing than it needed to be. I kept clicking around trying to find where to cancel things, then I had to look again for where to update my info, and it just wasn’t very clear. It wasn’t impossible, but it was annoying. Support did help eventually, but even that took longer than I expected. Overall, not the worst experience, just confusing, kind of slow, and way less straightforward than it should be

"Pricing felt sorta sneaky"
The resume tool itself was fine, but the pricing kinda irritated me. I thought I was just paying a small fee to download my resume, and then later realized it turns into a paid subscription. Maybe it was mentioned somewhere, but it definitely wasn’t clear enough to me. Canceling also wasn’t exactly smooth. Giving it 2 stars because the site does work, but the way the cost is set up feels sorta shady.

"Phone support actually helped me out"
I called livecareer after getting stuck on my resume because I couldn’t find one section for the life of me. I don’t remember what the section was called now, but I do remember the guy on the phone being really calm and not making me feel silly for asking.

He also cleared up a question I had about my account, and that part was easy enough to follow. I’ve already forgotten a few of the steps, but the important thing is the call was quick and I got my resume finished. Solid support, honestly.

"Easy enough, but the communication could be clearer"
LiveCareer was simple to use overall, even for someone like me who doesn’t love messing around with resume tools. The steps for building the resume were mostly clear, and I didn’t really get stuck too much. That said, there were a few parts where I had to click around more than I expected because the instructions or wording weren’t very clear, which was a little annoying. Still, it definitely made the process easier than trying to start a resume from scratch

I was feeling mentally drained and didn’t have the energy to deal with a long back-and-forth, but support replied really quickly and got my issue fixed fast. Super relieved it was that easy.

"Looked fine on screen, but printed poorly"
I used LiveCareer to make my resume, and at first it seemed okay because the preview looked clean on my screen.

But once I printed it, the problems showed up. The spacing moved around, and the text didn’t come out as sharp, so the whole resume looked less professional than I expected. I tried adjusting a few print settings, but it still looked messy.
It’s not the worst service, but if I’m printing something to give to employers, the final copy needs to look solid. Because the print quality was disappointing, I gave it 2 stars.

"Super easy to get started"
I set up my account in just a few minutes, and the email verification went through without any hassle. I didn’t run into any confusing steps or get stuck anywhere, which I think other customers will really appreciate too. Overall, happy with how smooth it was.

"Pricing was clear right away"
I used LiveCareer to clean up my resume, i appreciated that the pricing was clear before I paid. No guessing, no weird surprise charges on my end. I also found the cancellation info easily, which was nice. Overall, it felt simple and fair. 5 stars from me.

"Actually helped me find jobs faster"
I wasn’t expecting much, but this actually made my job search a lot easier. I found openings way faster than I usually do, and like I said, it really helped me feel less stuck. Like I said, if you’re tired of searching everywhere, this is worth trying.

"The resume builder itself was fine and I..."
The resume builder itself was fine and I did end up getting my resume finished, so it worked for what I needed. But the pricing felt kind of unclear to me, and canceling wasn’t exactly easy. Maybe I missed something, but overall it just wasn’t the smoothest experience. I probably wouldn’t use it again.

LiveCareer Q&A

I am extremely dissatisfied with how your company has enrolled me in an automatic subscription without my knowledge. It seems that the details regarding this automatic enrollment were deliberately hidden in the fine print, resulting in a charge of £5.95 per week, which is a significant burden for me. I have only used your services to create my CV and have not accessed my account since then. Consequently, I have been unknowingly paying for something that I neither knew I had access to nor have utilized. Considering these circumstances, I believe it would be appropriate for you to refund the payments that you have been deducting from my account since December 2015, which amounts to over £150. I am appalled to have paid such a substantial sum for absolutely nothing. I kindly request that you contact me at your earliest convenience to address this matter. You can reach me via email at debbiedoodaa2@gmail.com.

“The exact same thing happened to me this morning! I selected the monthly access option and when I clicked, it showed a total of $95. So, I went back and opted for the 14-day option at $1.95. However, I ended up being charged $95 instead. I have already reached out to customer support to request a refund for the extra charges and I am currently waiting for a response.”

“If you all want to create a resume or anything using my membership, which is valid until August 16, 2016, here are my username and password details: Email: ikelseymo@gmail.com Password: 969905 I kindly request that you please email me a 'thank you' or something similar, so I can keep track of how many people are using it. Thank you.”

I recently made a payment of approximately $2 for a one-time purchase. However, I noticed an unexpected charge of over $40 on my bank statement. Despite my attempts to contact them via phone and email, I have yet to receive a response. I haven't cancelled my account because I've heard that others in similar situations have faced difficulties getting their money back. The company either refuses refunds due to cancellation or claims they have no record of the cancellation. As a college student, I cannot afford to have such a large amount deducted from my account every month. I am already struggling financially, and this situation is extremely frustrating. Is there anyone who can assist me and others who have been affected by this company's deceptive practices?

“Hi Ashley, Please log in to your liveCareer account settings and go to the Subscription tab. From there, you can cancel your subscription. After that, contact your credit card customer care to block your current credit card and apply for a new one. In order to request a refund, please write a letter to customerservice@livecareer.com and mention Anna B, who will assist you in getting the refund. If you have any other concerns, please let me know. Thanks, Nithya”

“It appears that this is the typical operating procedure of this Company. When you sign up for a trial, they intentionally make it extremely difficult to get in touch with them and cancel the subscription. Consequently, they proceed to charge your credit card and claim that you failed to cancel within the designated timeframe. Despite my attempts, they have adamantly refused to refund my money. It is evident that they are engaging in fraudulent activities.”

“I suggest contacting your credit card's fraud department. That's exactly what I did in a similar situation. They helped me initiate a three-way call with the company involved. Once we had them on the line, we requested a cancellation and the representative from my credit card asked for a cancellation number. Eventually, the company did refund a portion of the money. However, it's worth noting that despite cancelling on the 10th, they only refunded me from the date of my call with the credit card company. At that point, I accepted what they offered. It's truly disappointing to see how deceitful and fraudulent this company is.”

I began creating a resume on this website, but I recently discovered that it may not be free. Can someone confirm if there are any hidden charges associated with it?

“Steve, I strongly advise you to flee from this situation. Take a moment to carefully examine the reviews, and then observe the frequency with which Anna B. is attempting to handle crises. It is evident that they are engaging in dishonest practices. I urge you to steer clear of them at any cost.”

“This is a common pitfall for many users on this site - they often forget to cancel their subscription right away and end up getting charged monthly. However, if you carefully read the fine print and understand that there will be a recurring fee for your resume and cancel it promptly, you won't encounter any issues with the site. But if you neglect to do so, you'll definitely accumulate charges.”

“I would strongly advise avoiding these individuals. Once I had made what I believed to be the payment for their services, they unexpectedly charged me an additional fee for printing out the resume that I had personally designed. They even charged for saving or making any modifications to it. Although the amount was small, it raised concerns for me, and to make matters worse, the customer service representative I spoke to was impolite and offensive when I questioned the charge.”

“Please exercise extreme caution when dealing with this website. They charged me approximately $400 for a single resume.”

My bank account is continuously being debited with £23.80. I am attempting to log in and cancel my account, but your website keeps informing me that it does not recognize my email. Can you provide assistance?

“The only solution to eliminate them is by canceling your credit card or debit card and obtaining a new one. It is crucial to act swiftly. Additionally, as mentioned by others, make sure to report the issue to various platforms. Dear Tom P., it is unfortunate that their Live Chat Team and email support are unresponsive, despite providing a seemingly official "ticket number" and all. I have exhausted all possible methods and received no reply. It is evident that I am not the only one facing this frustrating experience.”

“Hi Linda, I actually don't work for them, I simply utilized their services to create my CV! If you reach out to their live chat team, one of their members will be able to assist you. They do mention that there is an automatic subscription renewal in order for you to keep updating and printing your CV. The live chat team will be more than happy to assist you. Best regards, Tom”

“My son in high school had to cancel his debit card in order to put a stop to the charges. It seems that simply canceling your account doesn't prevent the charges from continuing, as your account is not considered the "subscription". It's quite frustrating that even after canceling your account and losing access to the "service" they offer, you still have to keep paying these people.”

“I had to cancel my Debit Card account with Bank of America because the Bank refused to block LiveCareer from accessing my account. I'm curious if there's some kind of collaboration going on between them. I think it might be necessary to file a class action lawsuit in order to recover our funds.”

“I completely understand your issue. It wasn't until I wrote a strongly worded review, contacted my bank to report an unauthorized charge, and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau that I finally received a response from a representative of this website. They refunded my expenses within 48 hours. However, I still maintain my negative review. They are very deceptive and dishonest. You would be better off searching for "how to" information on your own through a simple Google search.”

I would like to cancel the payments for this service as I am not utilizing it. Kindly respond to me as soon as possible. Thank you.

“It is important to ensure that you receive a confirmation stating that the service has been cancelled; otherwise, they will continue to charge you. Additionally, I personally called them and politely requested a refund after I had cancelled (the first time, when I did not receive an email confirmation). However, the customer service representative informed me that she was unable to assist me. It was only after I shared my negative experience in a review that another representative reached out to me and refunded the charges following my cancellation.”

“Many people have recommended emailing them, but make sure to do it directly through your email client instead of their website to ensure they receive it. I faced a similar problem and was able to resolve it by contacting the Better Business Bureau.”

“You should send an email to the company as stated in the fine print, which mentions that they have the right to charge you if you fail to cancel. Once you email them, they will respond and you should be able to get most of the fees refunded. I personally had a similar experience and found them to be somewhat helpful. It's important to be patient and direct in your communication. Good luck!”
